Liability Boat Insurance Prices Now Quoted for Boat Owners Online
News from DigitalJournal.com:

>PRWEB.COM NewswireJacksonville, FL (PRWEB) October 23, 2014

Boaters can now use the Quotes Pros website as a price research tool to find coverage for vessels of all sizes. A new group of companies providing liability boat insurance prices is accessible through the use of the defined database at http://quotespros.com.

State laws in most U.S. states have changed in recent years and some new legislation requires boaters to have certain liability coverage limits. New or existing boat owners seeking a better price for a protection plan can freely use the QuotesPros.com portal to find new collision or liability plans through this year.

“It is easy to use our system to review a listing of agencies that specialize in boat and other watercraft insurance protection,” said a Quotes Pros source.

One coverage type that is often left out of basic policies for owners of boats in the U.S. is known as uninsured boater coverage. This extra protection offers medical or financial payments to the owner of a vessel that is involved in a water related accident with another person who does not have sufficient coverage.

“Uninsured policy add-ons can now be priced using the searchable system we offer to give the most options to boaters when…………… continues on DigitalJournal.com

Markel American Insurance sued by insured boat owners
News from Southeast Texas Record:

Bodre Rising filed a lawsuit April 7 in the Jefferson County Court against Markel American Insurance Co., citing breach of contract, noncompliance with Texas Insurance Code, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing and fraud.

The complaint states Rising was the owner of a Watercraft Insurance Policy issued by Markel Insurance and filed a claim after a boating incident severely damaged the watercraft.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant denied and underpaid covered damages due to an unreasonable investigation of the claim. To date, the plaintiff has not received payment in full for the damages, according to the complaint.

Rising is seeking monetary relief over $ 50,000, but not more than $ 1 million.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Shaun W. Hodge of the Hodge Law Firm PLLC in Galveston.

Embarrassing boating “moments” many recreational boat owners are likely to …
News from Lakenewsonline.com:

Landlubbers make resolutions for the New Year. Recreational boaters, however, will usher in 2014 wishing for good fishing, wind in the sail or a full tank of fuel. But that’s not all that sometimes happens on the water. Murphy and his “law” make appearances.

“It’s hard to track some of these things, because no one likes to admit it,” said BoatUS Vice President Public Affairs Scott Croft. “But based on past experience, we know some of these boating ‘moments’ will happen to boat owners in the New Year, so we’ve gathered some tools and tips to avoid these troubles.”

Hit the dock a little too hard: Wind, waves or current can foul up the best-laid docking plans. GEICO offers boat owners money saving tips on winter storage
News from HispanicBusiness.com:

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Weekly News — If you and your boat are in a cold climate, there is a good chance that freezing winter temperatures could cause damage to it and your wallet. From the engine parts to the hull, keeping your boat in the water during the frigid cold is like throwing your wallet overboard. To save you money on costly repairs, GEICO encourages boat owners to choose a winter storage option that best protects your investment from the elements. “The ideal place for your boat during the winter is out of the water,” said Eric Baillargeon , GEICO Insurance Agency Boat Program Manager. “Extreme cold can wreak havoc on your boat’s engine and ultimately your wallet. Some insurance carriers may also offer a discount on boat insurance if you winterize and store your boat to protect it from unnecessary wear and tear this time of the year.” There are a variety of inexpensive winter storage options available for boat owners. Depending on the size and type of your boat, you may be able to conveniently store your boat on a trailer in a driveway or backyard. If a trailer is not a viable option, most marinas offer blocking services, which places your boat on a series of wooden blocks or jacks. “With blocking, your boat is exposed to the elements, but it’s out of the water and accessible throughout the winter for maintenance,” said…………… continues on HispanicBusiness.com
